“In a history of the Shaftesbury Crusade, there is reference to an article in an unnamed magazine published in London in the Victorian era. The article entitled ‘A Glance at Clifton from Brandon Hill’, after eulogising the amenities of Clifton, the article spelt out the slum like existence of those living in the area known as ‘The Dings’. The date of the article was August 1852. Nearly 170 years later, the home of Dings Crusaders RFC can be found at Shaftesbury Park – Frenchay”
‘’Our new Frenchay home is the physical testament to all those who have gone before us, those well known and some whose names have been lost over the years, but without their effort, loyalty and comradeship Dings Crusaders would not be the club it is today’’
