Bristol Bears Women
A long with the opening of the new facility at Shaftesbury Park we welcome the arrival of Bristol Bears Women.
Bristol Bears Women is an aspirational club offering players the opportunity to develop and grow within a welcoming environment. Our first team currently play in the Tyrrells Premier 15’s, while our development squad are in the Tyrrells Women’s Development League.
The club employ a high calibre of coaching staff in Head Coach Kim Oliver and her support staff.
The squad boasts a wealth of talent, from World Cup Players, Commonwealth Games Representatives, International Stars and BUCS champions, through to a development squad of committed individuals from across the South West.
The first team squad have consistently retained their top flight status alongside some of the best clubs in the country, and made the 2016/17 Premiership final where they were beaten by Aylesford Bulls.
Players are not only Bristol based, but travel from Exeter, Gloucester, Wales and Swindon to play for Bristol Bears Women. The club train and play home fixtures at Shaftesbury Park, the home of Dings RFC.
Bristol Bears Women, sponsored by Astra Security LTD and Thatchers, are partnered with Bristol Bears in order to develop the women’s game in the region.
An affiliation with Bristol Bears has enabled Bristol Bears Women to develop high professional standard and promote the sport at a time when popularity and media exposure is increasing.
Our club is welcoming and supportive, providing opportunities for women of all standards to reach their rugby playing potential through our two teams and our sister club programme.
